Chew or we're lost - «Μασάτε γιατί χανόμαστε» (Afrodite Dafnou, Ariadne Pediotaki)
Performance, 3 hours, 2nd Kapani Project, Thessaloniki, 2017

An attempt to reconstruct a pavement puddle in Kapani open market with chewing gums as the building.
One of the main ingredients of chewing gum is plastic. Therefore, it is almost impossible to melt over time. The conditions (rain, friction due to pressure, etc.) of the public space favor our aim, as they give the material the characteristics of cement (solid, stable material).
How many times do we see pressed chewing gums becoming one with the surface of the road or pavement?
Would it be more useful instead of creating bumps on the street - and on the soles of our shoes - to start covering the holes, creating colored patches?
